Janet Burgan at the Loom

I’m a professional musician and was looking for small projects to do while on the road. I started crocheting potholders because I couldn’t find any that were big enough or thick enough to protect my hands from searing hot cast iron. No one needs burned hands, but I play guitar so there’s an added reason to protect my hands. I started selling these potholders on my merchandise table at my shows along with my CD’s, and people loved them! If you want to know more about my music, go to www.janetburgan.com.

My friend Jessica told me about weaving twill coasters on a cardboard loom and I was intrigued! I cut a circle out of corregated cardboard and started weaving. They became another handmade item on my merch table.

Jessica received a rigid heddle loom for Christmas. She showed me her first weaving project – tea towels. They were so beautiful I had to learn to make them. I bought a used loom, watched some videos, warped up my loom and started weaving. Those towels are hanging in my kitchen right now. And, you guessed it, I added tea towels to my merch table. (I bought a portable loom so I can keep weaving even when I’m on the road!)

Now you can order these tea towels, potholders and coasters from me. Please use fill out the contact form. Tell me what items, patterns and colors you would like. I will contact you directly and we can finalize the order and make payment and shipping arrangements.
